About The Balanced Body Center
Where Precision Meets Compassion
For over 30 years, The Balanced Body Center has served the Matthews community with a simple conviction: the body is self-sustaining and self-healing when you remove what is in the way.

Root Causes, Not Symptoms
We don't chase symptoms — we uncover what is driving them. Every recommendation at The Balanced Body Center is guided by objective diagnostic findings, not guesswork. Less is always more.
The Values That Guide Every Decision
Natural. Precise. Whole-body. These aren't buzzwords at The Balanced Body Center — they are the operating principles behind every appointment and every care plan.
Precision Without Force
One of the most precise upper cervical techniques available. No twisting, no cracking, no excess.
Root-Cause Correction
We look for what started the problem, not just what is expressing it. Correction over management, always.
Whole-Body Thinking
Spine, system, and function addressed under one roof — because no single system operates in isolation.
Natural Over Pharmaceutical
No drugs, no injections. Nutraceuticals support the body's own healing mechanisms — the way nature intended.

Dr. Philip A. Arnone
BS, DC, DABCI
Dr. Philip Arnone founded The Balanced Body Center in Matthews in 1994 and has spent more than 35 years helping patients find lasting relief through natural, root-cause care. In that time, he has treated over 15,000 patients — earning a reputation as one of the most respected chiropractic physicians in the greater Charlotte area. Medical professionals including orthopedists, dentists, and podiatrists regularly refer their most complex cases to his clinic.
Dr. Arnone earned his Bachelor of Science from Fordham University and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer University. He later completed four additional years of post-doctoral study to receive his Diplomate from the American Board of Chiropractic Internists (DABCI) through Parker University — one of fewer than 300 chiropractors in the country to hold this credential alongside NUCCA certification. He introduced the ExMI Pelvic Floor Therapy Chair technology to the United States in 2012 and developed the Pelvic Wave System, a non-invasive approach to strengthening pelvic floor muscles. Dr. Arnone has been published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine and the journal Healthcare, and he hosts an annual symposium bringing together medical, chiropractic, and naturopathic physicians to advance the field of natural medicine. Awards include International Chiropractic Association Upper Cervical Researcher of the Year (2024), NC Chiropractic Association Member of the Year (2020), and ACA Presidents Award (2010, 2011, 2012).

Dr. Nicholas A. Foster
BS, DC
Dr. Nicholas Foster came to chiropractic through a deeply personal experience — watching his daughter heal through chiropractic care following a vaccine injury. That moment set him on a new path, and he hasn't looked back. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Excelsior University and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Sherman College of Chiropractic, where he became proficient in multiple chiropractic techniques including the Thompson Technique, Torque Release (advanced certified), and the orthogonal model of upper cervical techniques including NUCCA and Orthospinology.
Dr. Foster extended his NUCCA training directly alongside Dr. Arnone, making him one of a select few chiropractors practicing the technique in the country. His interests have expanded beyond structural chiropractic into whole-body functional health — he is currently pursuing his Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists (DABCI), the same rigorous post-doctoral program Dr. Arnone completed. His approach integrates chiropractic and functional medicine to help patients move toward lasting wellness rather than ongoing management.
