Chiropractic & the BBC System

The Balanced Body System of Health is exclusively available at The Balanced Body Center. Dr. Arnone has used his 28 years of practice experience to create a completely unique and revolutionary approach to healthcare. Our system uses a combination of advanced procedures to resolve complaints, improve health, and maximize well-being. Our system is based on improving the body's function using a combination of chiropractic adjustments, advanced diagnostics, customized laboratory testing, and individualized nutrition programs that utilize supplementation, enzymes, and Homeopathic therapy.

The core of the program is centered around balancing the upper cervical spine utilizing the NUCCA technique. Dr. Arnone and Dr. Farmen are two of only 300 practitioners in the country capable of utilizing this technique and our clinic is the only clinic in the Carolinas able to provide this care. The NUCCA technique is based on the understanding that the uppermost part of the spine (called the “atlas”) protects the brain stem which is the point of communication between the brain and the spinal cord. Any misalignment in this area can cause direct pressure on the nervous system. This pressure will cause head tilt, compensatory misalignment throughout the entire spine, decreased function in the nervous system, a multitude of symptoms throughout the body, and diminished potential for overall health.

This NUCCA technique utilizes laser aligned digital x-rays and physics to calculate a line of correction. Once this line of correction is determined, NUCCA doctors utilize a hand adjustment with a leverage and fulcrum system to deliver a calculated correction to the spine. Due to the precision of the adjustment, the treatment is comfortable, safe, and effective. Many patients drive over 3 hours to visit our clinic for the NUCCA treatment. (For more on NUCCA, visit www.nucca.org).

In addition to NUCCA, our clinic uses a variety of specialized techniques to adjust and rehabilitate the spine. Our doctors recognize that it takes time for weakened ligament systems to develop spinal imbalance. The Balanced Body System utilizes Pettibon physical therapy rehabilitation to ensure that imbalances are corrected and muscles are strengthened to maximize the stability of the spine. Post x-rays are utilized to measure weakness, calculate a correction model of rehabilitation, and to confirm correction.

Our clinic is one of very few clinics that have successfully integrated physical therapy and chiropractic. All of our licensed physical therapists have trained with Dr. Arnone in our system of health. Our massage therapists work with our physical therapists to address all the needs of the muscle and ligament system. There are many clinics that offer spinal decompression or laser therapy, but the Balanced Body Center goes one step further by integrating these procedures into our system of health when necessary.

Environmental factors, poor nutrition, and other lifestyle components have created tremendous complications and obstacles to improving, obtaining, and maintaining health. To provide the best care for his patients, Dr. Philip Arnone completed 4 additional years of education after chiropractic school to receive a Diplomate as a Chiropractic Internist (DABCI) and has served as the past President of the Council on Diagnosis and Internal Disorders. Dr. Arnone is a Chiropractor and Board-Certified Chiropractic Internist with 28 years of experience who gives back by teaching chiropractors, naturopaths, and medical physicians the most advanced diagnostic procedures and natural approaches to health.

Dr. Derek Farmen is one of these doctors taught by Dr. Arnone. Dr. Farmen graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic while simultaneously completing the coursework required for the Diplomate Degree in Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the North Carolina Integrative Medical Society composed of medical physicians from different disciplines that come together to share the latest advancements in medical diagnostic procedures and natural treatments. He has been trained first-hand by Dr. Arnone in the Balanced Body System of Health and works closely with Dr. Arnone to ensure delivery of the best possible care to patients. Dr. Arnone and Dr. Farmen are dedicated to continuing the advancement of natural medicine and strive to provide the most up-to-date forms of diagnosis and treatment for our patients.

Our doctors incorporate a complete diagnostic evaluation, assessment, and nutritional program with our advanced structural care. Our facility offers general blood chemistries with orthomolecular analysis for diagnosis and nutritional evaluation, bone density testing, thyroid evaluations, male and female hormone profiles, neurotransmitter testing, amino acid testing, vascular studies, EKGs, lung function testing, delayed food allergy testing, systemic yeast tests, heavy metal analysis and detox, cardiovascular programs, and much more to help our patients obtain maximum recovery and health.
